What it is
Stenabolic is a REV-ERB agonist: a compound acting on a circadian-clock protein that also influences metabolism. It is a laboratory research tool, not a drug candidate that reached human trials, and it is neither a SARM nor an androgen.
What’s claimed
- Endurance gains comparable to exercise
- Fat loss and improved metabolic health
- Improved sleep and recovery
What the evidence shows
The endurance and metabolic findings come from mice, and in those studies the compound was injected. The problem for anyone taking the capsules sold online is that oral bioavailability is very poor: published pharmacokinetic work indicates that little of an oral dose reaches the circulation at all. So even taking the mouse findings at face value, the product being sold is unlikely to reproduce them (Marketing claim). There is no human efficacy or safety data of any kind.
The risks
- Unknown human profile: no human trials exist, so no side-effect profile has been characterised.
- Circadian interference: it acts directly on a core clock protein, and the long-term consequences of disrupting that system in humans are simply not known.
- Product risk: manufactured outside any regulatory system. Independent testing repeatedly finds these products mislabelled, under- or over-concentrated, or containing entirely different active drugs, so the real exposure is unknowable from the label.
What needs monitoring
- No monitoring protocol exists, because no legitimate human use exists. Anyone who has taken it should say so to their doctor.
