Pooling 6 controlled trials in 585 healthy women, adding exercise to hormone therapy produced no significant extra gain in bone mineral density at the spine or hip compared with hormone therapy alone, despite a small trend in favour of the combination.

What it shows: Treat this as an open question rather than a closed case: results pooled from 6 trials covering 585 women showed a small trend favouring the combination that never reached significance.
