Supplementspreliminary · human dataDiscovery of the day

Pooling 11 randomised trials covering 360 adults, adding chronic polyphenol supplements to structured resistance training produced only small and statistically uncertain effects on strength, and effects near zero on lean mass and direct measures of muscle size. The authors conclude the evidence does not establish any reliable extra benefit.

What it shows: The most complete look yet at this question, pooling results from 11 trials in 360 adults, and it found no reliable extra gain from the supplements. The trials were few, they used different polyphenol products, and the certainty was rated low to very low, so a small benefit or a small harm cannot be ruled out either way.Systematic review · Front Nutr
