Exercise cuts falls and builds bone, but fracture proof is still missing
Every type of exercise programme tested reduced how often older people fell, and aerobics, resistance training and plain walking all added bone at the spine. The one thing no trial had shown is the outcome that matters most: fewer broken bones.
