Curcumin plus exercise trimmed body fat percentage

Pooled across seven small randomised trials in obese adults, exercisers who also took curcumin lost more body fat percentage than those who exercised alone. The confidence interval reached almost to no effect at all, so the real size of the benefit is far from pinned down.

What it shows: Meta-analysis of only seven RCTs totalling 72 males and 111 females, 94 exercising without curcumin and 89 with, and the pooled estimate's confidence interval (0.12 to 4.24) is so wide that the true effect could be trivial; only body fat percentage is reported as significant in the abstract.Meta-analysis · Lipids
