Thirteen trials with 782 participants made the cut, and the main interventions were mindfulness, Pilates and yoga. Results were pooled using a random-effects model, and the team ran subgroup checks, sensitivity analyses and tests for publication bias, then graded the overall certainty of the evidence.

What they found

Across the pooled trials, mind-body therapies improved sleep quality compared with controls, with a mean difference of 2.63 points on sleep quality scores in favour of the interventions. The result held up in sensitivity analyses, and no significant publication bias was detected. However, the trials disagreed with each other substantially, and subgroup analyses suggested that country, intervention duration and session length may partly explain why results varied. Reflecting all of this, the certainty of evidence for the primary outcome was rated as low.
