Maca

Silver· human data

Also known as: Lepidium meyenii

A Peruvian root with the best evidence for libido rather than hormones.

Maca is a Peruvian root vegetable taken for energy, libido and fertility. Notably, its effects do not appear to work by changing testosterone or other sex hormones.

The most consistent human evidence is for improved libido and possibly some mood and menopausal-symptom benefits; fertility and performance data are weaker. A food-safe option with modest, specific evidence rather than a hormone booster.
