Reishi is a medicinal mushroom used for immune support, calm and general wellbeing, with beta-glucans and triterpenes as active compounds.
Human trials are limited and mixed, some suggest immune or quality-of-life effects, including as an adjunct in illness, but the standalone wellness evidence is preliminary. Extract quality and beta-glucan content vary widely, which matters more here than the mushroom name.
