Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of joint fluid and skin, holding water and lubricating tissues. It is best established as a joint injection and a topical skin ingredient; here the question is oral supplements.
Some small trials report modest improvements in knee-osteoarthritis symptoms and skin hydration with oral hyaluronic acid, though how much intact molecule is absorbed is debated. Reasonable and low-risk, with modest expectations.
