Stinging nettle is used in two main ways: the root for benign prostatic symptoms and the leaf for hay-fever-type allergies.
For prostate symptoms, some trials (often in combination formulas) suggest modest relief; for allergic rhinitis the evidence is weaker and preliminary. It is generally well tolerated; the root and leaf are used for different purposes, which product labels do not always make clear.
